Green Sri Lanka - “One Person – One Plant” National Programme – 2022
According to the Government Policy Statement Vistas of Prosperity, Rs. 2000 million has been allocated in the 2022 Budget Proposals to take specific measures to increase forest cover of Sri Lanka to 30% by 2025.
Under the guidance of Hon. R.M.C.B. Mr. Ratnayake, Minister of Wildlife and Forest Conservation, the Green Sri Lanka National Program has been launched under the theme ‘One Person – One Plant’ to achieve the objectives of maintaining environmental balance and increasing forest cover. This Ministry has issued Circular No. 01/2022 and necessary guidance to implement the relevant projects. Support from all relevant parties has been sought in making the Green Sri Lanka National Program, one of Sri Lanka’s foremost state programs, a success in the coming decade.
